An entrepreneurial importer / distributor of FMCG goods is seeking to hire a talented Financial Controller on a permanent basis to replace someone moving abroad. Reporting directly to the owner / manager, the role offers the variety of end to end accounting and commercial business partnering to all aspects of the business. The key responsibilities would be:
Preparation of month end management accounts, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting
Preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecast review with revised actuals.
Supervision of an Accounts Assistant covering the transaction ledgers, cash book, stock and fixed assets
Preparation of month end journals including payroll, depreciation, accruals, stock provisions and sales.
Review of Gross Margins, Cost of Sales analysis and Stock variances, including monthly sales and order report.
Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and review of P&L expenses against budgets and forecasts.
Management of foreign currency requirements including purchase of forward contracts
Preparation of draft statutory accounts and supporting audit schedules and liaising with our auditors
Preparation and review of VAT, Intrastat and EC sales and purchase returns
Company secretarial matters including annual return and preparation of board minutes
Ideally, the successful candidates will be an ACA/ACCA qualified Accountant with experience of hands-on financial management in SME organisations. You will be an excellent communicator and staff manager with a commercial outlook on top of sound technical accounting skills. Exposure to Navision would be a bonus, but sound Excel skills would be expected. It is preferable that the individual has exposure in a product-based experience
