Senior Management Accountant

RotheramCarrington Recruitment Group are currently representing a Chester based organisation in the search for a Senior Management Accountant supporting the Group function. This role would report to the Head of Financial Control based in London. This role is mainly remote working for the next 6 months with a couple of visits to the Chester office, with a visit to the London office once a quarter. Our Client is looking for a qualified accountant who is looking to step up in the next 15 to 18 months.

Whilst this is remote working the successful individual would need to be able to commute to the Chester Office, as longer term the business would expect a hybrid working situation.

Job responsibilities will include the following:

• Responsible for the month end accounting process to P&L, balance sheet reconciliation, journal & accrual input
• Producing the management accounts, KPI & budget reports with variance analysis providing commentary to the business
• Using Advanced Excel to analyse data highlighting trends around revenue streams
• Continuous improvements to the organisations financial control and systems process
• On a weekly basis ensure the nominal ledger balances and that all entries reconcile
• Cash management
• Preparation of the Tax return to HMRC, supported by HQ
• Responsible for preparing the organisations year end and half yearly statutory accounts, liaising with external auditors
• Ad hoc project work as required

Skills/Experience

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified Management Accountant
• Ideally an individual who is looking to progress and possibly step up to a controller level in 18 months
• Sector background isn't essential but if the person has worked in a more regulated environment such as financial services or insurance this could be advantageous
• Excellent Excel skills including pivot and look up tables, SQL would be a plus but advantages
• An analytical mind set with the vision to keep progressing the Company systems and processors
• A good team player - supporting the other individual around you

What's On Offer

• £45,000 TO £55,000 per annum
