This boutique corporate finance practice is looking for someone to build and lead their growing Transaction Services business, as they advise some of the leading strategic and institutional investors and acquirors in the media and technology sectors.

Client Details

This small corporate finance advisory firm in London advises businesses who are seeking to either buy, sell or raise investment at the intersection of media and technology.


This firm is looking for an Associate Director to lead their Transaction Services function. If you enjoy working on a wide-reaching range of projects, owning your work, and want to build your own book of business, then this could be the role for you.

Growing the business

You will:

  • Manage projects in order to optimise financial returns for the client and the firm.
  • Lead business development/winning work/selling
  • Build an extensive external network from which to generate and convert leads.
  • Maintain and monitor your network using a structured approach.
  • Build a personal profile in the external market.
  • Play a key role in marketing events, originating material and presenting to external audiences.
  • Proactively seek out business development opportunities.
  • Participate fully in new client proposal situations.
  • Be active in winning new client work, negotiating and closing sales opportunities with minimum director and partner input.
  • Suggest innovative selling solutions whilst pro-actively identifying cross-selling opportunity.
  • Ensure all public relations on completed assignments is performed.
  • Contribute to the production of marketing materials for the company

Take responsibility

You will:

  • Take responsibility and ownership of the client relationship at the appropriate level in the client's organisation at board level.
  • Manage client take on/risk management
  • Oversee and manage letters of engagement internally and with the client.
  • Lead report writing and client deliverable work with the support of the wider team
  • Set the fee estimate and oversee the drafting of the engagement letter.
  • Ensure that the assignment is completed within budget
  • Lead the presentation of conclusions and recommendations to the client and discusses the implications and action points.


  • ACA/CA qualified
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Transaction Services, ideally in the media or technology sectors
  • Managerial experience gained in a Big 4 or top 20 accountancy practice experience is preferred.
  • Wide experience of client facing work in relevant industry sectors
  • Substantial experience of applying commercial judgement
  • Experience of developing and mentoring staff
  • Developing ability to build and maintain a network of industry contacts
  • Extensive experience of writing and reviewing reports
  • Good working knowledge of MS Powerpoint, Excel & Word and email

Job Offer

  • £90,000 base salary, private healthcare, a performance-based bonus scheme, generous holiday allowance and flexible working practices.
  • 9am-6pm working hours.
  • No requirement to work weekends.
