We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our Risk and Compliance EMEA Assurance team and support the rollout and execution of the Compliance Monitoring Plans for Amazon's EMEA regulated entities. The role will be uniquely placed to work directly with Regional Leaders to drive scalable testing and monitoring solutions that help maintain a "compliant status" vis-à-vis regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Risk and Compliance EMEA Assurance team stakeholders (Compliance Officers, Payments Risk, Governance, Program Managers, Product Owners and other Operational and Support teams) to provide data driven analysis and monitoring solutions and is expected to have the ability to work with and analyze large data sets, to identify risks, outliers, patterns or trends that may impact Amazon's regulated entities compliance risk exposure. The successful candidate will lead on data extraction, analysis and reporting of risks that may impact a regulated entity and will partner with Analytics team to support data mining and program improvement needs for the Risk and Compliance EMEA Assurance team
The successful candidate is highly-analytical, an ambitious motivated self-starter, that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. The candidate must have strong organizational skills and should be a fast learner, quickly able to translate regulatory requirements in a data-driven language while absorbing the nuances of Amazon's varied payment offerings, their risks and internal systems.
The successful candidate should have strong business and communication skills, as well as be able to work closely with global stakeholders to define key business questions and build data sets and models that answer them. The successful candidate will fill in a role of a thought leader, thrive in data driven areas and take joy in analyzing an assortment of data sets to formulate outcomes and conclusions.

We need actionable insights, and not just reports! We want someone who can distill knowledge from data that will help us decide what to build and how it should work. Above all, you should be passionate about using data to solve problems and improve the way we serve our customers.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field;
• Industry experience (min 3-4 years) as an Analyst or related specialty (e.g. Software Engineer, Data Engineer, and Data Scientist) with extensive professional experience and a proven track record in a role focused on understanding, manipulating, processing and extracting value from large datasets.
• Experience working with ambiguous and complex problems with no clear solution;
• Proven experience in relational database concepts with an expert knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Excel;
• Experience working with data visualization tools such as Quicksight, Tableau etc
• Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team;
• Demonstrated analytical skills with passions on working with structural and unstructured data sets;
• Strong communication skills, and proven track record to work on multiple priorities with several stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project;
• Experience in communicating with users, other software teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software/data product features, and technical designs;
• Experience influencing software engineering best practices outside your team;
• Background in Big Data, Machine Learning and Data Mining is a plus;
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role;
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
