We are currently partnered with our client in Cavan who have an exciting new role for a Financial Controller working in the Food Service Industry. Fully Qualified Accountant with knowledge of using an ERP system for financial analysis and reporting. This Financial Controller position would suit a strategic and ambitious accountant who would strive to achieve constant improvement and best practice for the company. Key Responsibilities: • Leading, supporting and motivating the team in a manner that is consistent with the three core priorities for the Division. • Ensuring that all legal, regulatory and audit requirements associated with the financial controls within Foodservice are satisfied to minimise business risk and protecting the Company's assets • Reviewing and updating the current process of accounts, forecast, budget and business plan preparation with a view to providing the most professional and systemised service in line with the capability of the ERP system. • Assisting with the implementation of ERP systems to maximise the efficiency of financial reporting and to standardise business processes. • Collaborating with the other functional heads in Foodservice so that finance priorities are aligned with the rest of the business. • Encouraging a cohesive relationship between employees and improving the effectiveness of the financial process between the divisions. • Supporting and liaising with the functional heads in Foodservice with a view to optimising performance across all areas of the business (operational, commercial & supply chain) and maximising return on investment. • Organising and co-ordinating the monthly finance meeting to ensure that all the relevant aspects of Foodservice performance are communicated to the right people and that appropriate actions are taken that will improve business results. • Implementing and maintaining a robust system for justifying capital investment projects (including post-project appraisal) which is aligned to Board expectations. • To facilitate the development of our people by increasing the level of financial understanding and fluency within the Division through explanation, informal coaching and relationship building. Key Requirements • Fully qualified CIMA accountant • Experience of working as an accountant in a manufacturing environment • Experience of managing a team of accountants • Excellent IT skills, particularly in the use of Excel • Knowledge of using an ERP system for financial analysis and reporting • Ability to challenge the status quo to achieve a culture of continuous improvement and best practice • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work collaboratively across teams to achieve common goals • Strategic and proactive in approach • Demonstrate influencing, leadership and motivational skills • Display a logical and systematic approach to problem solving • Work to high standards at all times striving to deliver the best results • Knowledge or experience of business process or profit improvement • Knowledge or experience of managing change within an organization • Experience of due diligence resulting in acquisition or merger For more information please contact Stephen Farrell O'Callaghan in Clark.
