Job Description

The Firmwide Regulatory Reporting & Analysis (FRRA) team, as part of Firmwide Controllers, are responsible for the design, implementation and execution of end-to-end processes supporting U.S. Regulatory Reporting including Consolidated, Capital, Standalone and CCAR/DFAST reporting, Regulatory Reporting training and exam management. Additionally, FRRA drives broader strategic initiatives across external reporting including accountability, error and issue management, manual adjustments, variance analysis, quality assurance and the target U.S. Regulatory Reporting platform.

The FRRA Innovation team sits within FRRA and is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Intelligent automation solutions, identifying and delivering process automation and technology innovation, supporting the reporting production close, and helping to define and design multi-year business infrastructure strategy.

FRRA Analytics Solutions – Associate

The FRRA Analytics Solutions Associate will design and deliver analytics and reporting solutions, in addition to enhancing and reengineering existing production processes. The role requires someone with the ability to collect, clean, and prepare data from disparate sources and establish insightful data visualization in an intuitive and actionable form. You will partner with stakeholders across FRRA to define and deliver performance monitors covering financial report health, data anomaly detection, risk & resiliency profiling, and project management tracking. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking, analytical and process transformation skills, serving as an agent of change.

Summary of key responsibilities include:

  • Implement analytics solutions extracting insights from large, technical datasets using tools both internal and third-party
  • Drive analytics discovery through partnerships with key stakeholders in the business
  • Follow established project lifecycle from end to end to deliver timely, efficient, and fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Engage partners such as FRRA report owners, Center of Excellence teams, and Control partners through established forums
  • Assist with various aspects of project management including development of project plans, task management, design, testing scenarios and analysis, implementation, and procedural / operating model documentation
  • Collaborate with system / data owners and business project teams to improve overall data quality and implement tactical solutions to automate repetitive, manual data clean-up and aggregation work
  • Develop expertise in existing and future strategic data source systems to streamline and improve information content, transparency, and delivery
  • Communicate summary of analysis and findings thoroughly and succinctly (summary of facts, data sources, analyses performed, conclusions, and recommendations) to various stakeholders, including executive leadership and participate/lead Innovation forums

This position requires prior experience in delivering complex data transformation, reporting and analytics initiatives in a production environment.

The individual will be expected to partner with senior managers and project leads across FRRA. The role will also involve participating in various strategic initiatives across the business including operating model and technology transformation.

Qualifications & Required Skills

The candidate for this position must have the following qualifications and skill set to perform this role:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in an MIS, Analytics, or technology discipline. Finance experience a plus.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in design and delivery of analytics, reporting and process automation solutions; preferably in financial services industry
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting using Tableau and QlikView/QlikSense
  • Advanced data transformation skills using Alteryx, Xceptor, VBA scripts and macros
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, Access, and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of Python, R, SQL and/or RPA tools like WinAutomation, UIPath is a plus
  • Good understanding of Agile software development principles and software development lifecycle
  • Some experience with process review, discovery and reengineering skills
  • Good analytical and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; including strong time-management and prioritization skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Ability to work in broad teams and to interface and present to stakeholders of varying levels
  • Availability to support quarter-end close schedules which may require extended hours and weekends as needed for production issue resolution only
  • Results-oriented / delivery focused; ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
