This role offers the chance of an immediate start. We are working with an established, well-respected company who are looking for someone on a 12- month fixed term contract basis, with the potential for a permanent role. Working in a modern environment with a flexible, hybrid, working schedule, the successful candidate will be entering the business at an exciting time as they are currently implementing a new HR system.

Client Details

The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a responsive payroll service and ensure the effective administration of staff remuneration and establishment of control, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager. Your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Payroll Manager as required.
  • To deputise for the Payroll Manager during periods of absence
  • To be responsible for the training, organisation and supervision of the Payroll Assistant/Apprentice, including 1:1's and Performance Management Reviews.
  • To accurately input and check Payroll data.
  • To provide administrative support for absence recording and monitoring.
  • To accurately respond to and deal with payroll related queries from employees, department heads and external clients.
  • To oversee the regular monthly audit checks.
  • To complete annual AoC Surveys relating to staff & costing statistics.
  • To undertake pension monthly returns liaising with the pension providers to ensure the accurate and timely submission of the end of monthly and yearly reports.
  • To assist with internal and external pension audits when required
  • To update and maintain current and relevant information on the staff intranet payroll pages.
  • Be the liaison between the pension fund providers and the client.

  • Must be a team player and enjoys their work.
  • Must have experience working in finance, preferably Payroll.
  • Will ideally have knowledge of payroll systems. (desirable but not essential)

Job Offer

As well as being a reputable and established company, our client is offering:

  • Salary 22k-24k
  • Hybrid working 2 days in the office, 3 days at home. For training purposes you will be required to come into the office more initially.
  • Friendly and fun working environment.
  • 25 days annual leave
  • 5 hours per week, 8:30-5pm. This is extremely flexible.
  • Free onsite parking
