Our client has built a strong reputation as one of Australia's leading builder-developers over the past 20 years, delivering complex, high value residential and mixed-use developments in some of Sydney's highly sough after locations. Currently they have an opportunity for a highly skilled and knowledgeable Finance Manager with a background in Construction to join their business.
Client Details
With a current development pipeline of 2-3 projects per year exceeding $500m in value, our client is looking for a highly capable Finance Manager to join their team and establish the financial accounting function in order to support their ongoing success and growth as a business.
Description
The Finance Manager will report to the Company Directors and will be responsible for the following:
- Manage the full Finance and Accounting function, oversee a team of 3
- Establish financial governance and compliance processes
- Deliver on statutory compliance requirements
- Produce financial statements and monthly management reporting
- Consolidations as the business operates through multiple entities
- Budgeting, forecasting and analysis
- Support the successful delivery of 2-3 projects per year, 100 units per project. Construction project accounting on a quarterly basis. Reporting and monitoring of major milestones, variances etc.
- Oversee some of the basic accounting duties, bookkeeping and invoicing
- Accounting system is Cheops
Profile
The successful candidate will possess the following credentials:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
- CA/CPA qualified
- 5 - 8 years experience in a Construction or Property Development company
- Experience with setting up g a finance function and establishing financial governance and compliance processes essential
- Enjoys working in a smaller family like business or environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills and possess the ability to influence
- Solid work ethic and diligent
- Team orientated
- Experience with Project Accounting - handling Projects in excess of $200m
- Values stability and loyalty
