We are looking for a qualified Level 4 AAT or current ACCA student to join our busy Outsourcing team.

Founded in 1906, Critchleys is Oxford’s leading firm of accountants and business advisers, with a professional and friendly culture. We are forward thinking and provide a full range of Accountancy services to our substantial, growing and diverse client base.

We have a skilled team of 100 people at all levels in whom we place great value and are strong investors in our people. The firm has a reputation for technical excellence, training and delivering a responsive service to our clients which we strive to continue through our future appointments.

Based in the heart of the city centre, our offices are close to train and bus links and offers our staff a fresh, modern and inspiring environment to work in.

The role

Working in the Outsourcing team you will be responsible for the preparation of management accounts and VAT returns for a portfolio of clients. You will need to ensure an exemplary client service is delivered at all times.

As a Semi Senior Outsourcing Assistant, you will be responsible for approximately 20-30 micro/small clients on a mixture of weekly/monthly/quarterly basis, which will include sole traders, partnerships, charities and small limited companies.

You will also review input from junior members of the team, where this forms part of your own assignment, and will raise draft invoices for director/partner approval.

The person

You will ideally be either Level 4 AAT qualified and/or already studying towards your ACCA qualification (first tier). Previous experience in working in practice would be an advantage.

You will be able to use accounts production packages (such as Xero, Sage 50 Accounts, Quickbooks) and Excel.

You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and are able to demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy. You will be able to proactively manage client relationships, with the confidence to work on your own initiative.

Teamwork and the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines in an organised and thorough manner will be needed for this busy role.

The benefits

In return, we offer a 37.5 hour working week Monday to Friday, and an excellent benefits package including competitive salary, 32 days’ holiday (including bank and public holidays), company pension, pleasant working environment, excellent career progression opportunities and comprehensive study support.
