Key highlights of the role:

  • Varied client base ranging from successful entrepreneurial businesses/groups with turnovers up £70m, through to UK companies within large MNEs.
  • Work can include anything from demergers, reorganisations, R&D, capital allowances, international taxes, complex compliance and everything in between.
  • You will be working closely with our Head of Tax for the West Country to deliver all manner of tax advisory projects.
  • You can make this role your own, we have scope to widen the tax department in the WCR and you can be part of their mentoring, training, growth and development.

As a dynamic Tax Advisory Manager you will work closely with the West Country regions’ Head of Tax, Partners and clients to provide Tax Advisory services, as well as assist with certain complex tax compliance matters. You will focus a large part of your time in supporting the Head of Tax to deliver tax advisory services to existing and new clients. You will assist in managing the tax team by hearing the voice of your team members, conduct appraisals, provide coaching and mentoring of assignments to support the development of team skills and knowledge and continually improve the quality and delivery of work. As part of your own development you will establish strong working relationships with your own portfolio of clients through assignments and regular contact, including attending client meetings.

As you will be the mentor to a number of our family members, previous Corporate Tax or Mixed Tax experience in a similar role within a practice environment is advantageous. We are looking for someone with a strong technical knowledge, has the ability to carry out research into complex areas of tax legislation, manage complex projects and help upskill the tax team, and is happy to undertake business development in the region. In terms of qualifications we would ideally be expecting a CTA or ACA/ACCA qualified Tax specialist with a track record of tax technical work and client wins.

"We are looking for a self-starter to join a busy tax team. The role is primarily focused on tax advisory project work whilst providing Corporate Tax compliance assistance. If you have a Corporate or mixed-tax background looking to expand on your advisory experience, you are likely to find this role of interest. A desire and passion to develop your technical and advisory skills will be actively encouraged and supported. You will have the opportunity to work with a broad range of clients and be excited by the prospect of working within a forward thinking, technologically driven practice."
