Job description

Business Advisor, Business Consulting - Finance (Insurance: Operations Insurance) (Financial Services Office) (Manager) (Multiple Positions) (549002), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Minneapolis, MN.

Provide business advisory and consulting services to insurance clients. Design and implement solutions to improve insurance organizations’ efficiency and effectiveness in the areas of strategy, people, processes, and technology. Advise clients on business improvement processes to drive business outcomes. Help insurance clients execute against their business strategy by designing optimal operating models, improving financial and operational performance, and enabling technology systems to serve client needs. Manage and motivate teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40-45 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the Insurance industry. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field and 4 years of work experience in the Insurance industry.
  • Must have 3 years of experience at a financial services company; alternatively, must have 3 years of experience working as an advisor to life insurance companies.
  • Must have 4 years of experience working with teams of business advisors through all phases of the project lifecycle, including requirements definition, process and prose creation, business re-engineering, and application mapping.
  • Must have 4 years of experience designing, developing, and integrating business operations technology.
  • Must have 4 years of experience researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, life insurance industry practices, and new application technologies.
  • Must have 3 years of experience in one or a combination of the following: Life Insurance Claims, Policy Administration, Underwriting, and/or Billing.
  • Must have 4 years of experience with Life Insurance operations and Life Insurance technology.
  • Requires travel up to 80%, of which 20% may be international, in order to meet client needs.
