The opportunity

EY is has an opportunity for you as an experienced compensation professional to develop and drive compensation programs, including base compensation, variable pay and recognition programs. You will provide compensation consulting services to various stakeholders across the firm. You will be responsible for key compensation functions including market analysis, survey participation; assisting with the design and development of base salary and variable pay compensation plans and programs, compensation education/training and other consulting services.

Your key responsibilities

You will serve as a compensation consultant by:

  • Assist in development and execution of pay programs that are market competitive and recognize and drive performance
  • Manage compensation related projects.
  • Interpret and advise on compensation policies and procedures.
  • Analyze market data and internal salary data to provide customized job analysis
  • Research and develop recommendations for design, communication, implementation and administration of base salary and variable pay compensation programs, practices, polices and systems which are aligned with firm philosophies and strategies.
  • Manage year-end compensation for designate business practices
  • Monitor trends in base pay and variable pay compensation and recommends enhancements that will aid in retention, motivation, and recruitment of talent.
  • Recommend updates to compensation practices, merit budgets and salary range structures based on the research and analysis of salary surveys and other available competitive information sources to maintain a competitive compensation program.
  • Manage the review, analysis, evaluation of job descriptions based on job responsibility using established evaluation systems to determine salary grades.
  • Apply knowledge of compensation policies and procedures and compensation legislation to make sure firm polices, practices and programs comply with legal standards

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience researching and providing analysis regarding the design, communication, implementation and administration of base salary and variable pay compensation programs.
  • You have evaluated and benchmarked jobs analyzing various pay components to determine compensation goals.
  • You will monitor trends in base pay and variable pay compensation and recommend enhancements.
  • You will utilize your understanding of advanced principles and concepts to a wide range of work in a complex functional area and work independently on complex projects.
  • You will leverage strong data analysis skills providing data analysis and developing insights from variety of data sources.

To qualify for this role, you must have

  • Experience developing, communicating, and administering base and variable pay program
  • Advanced proficiency in using Excel for high level data manipulation and formula driven model building will be critical along with your knowledge of how to present analysis findings and present insights
  • Knowledge of theory and practice required, including relevant laws and regulations within a specific functional area
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Approximately 10+ years in talent, compensation, or another related field
