Job Description
As a top-ranked, rapidly growing independent fund administrator, HedgeServ has new exciting paid internship opportunities for talented accounting, business, and finance students.
Our aim within the program is to develop and motivate top students as Fund Accountants by building challenging roles for them; helping them develop valuable skills; and giving them direction in their future career choices.
Every Fund Accounting Intern will receive excellent Induction Training, in addition to both compulsory training as well as technical and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of daily, weekly and monthly NAV, ensuring completion of specified tasks per NAV checklists
- Perform cash, position and market value reconciliations between HedgeServ, brokers and clients
- Identify and investigate break items on reconciliations in a timely manner
- Escalate fund accounting issues and aged items to the Fund Accounting Supervisor
- Ensure all positions are priced correctly
- Verify corporate actions to ensure accurate processing
- Prepare daily profit and loss reports and review for reasonableness
- Calculate and process income and expense accruals including fee calculations and trading accruals
Job Requirements for the role
Education:
- Student of minimum 3rd year preferred (Business, Accounting or Finance or similar)
Personal skills:
- Availability minimum 40h/week
- Good English skills
- Strong academic background
- IT Literate and Excel experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and well organized
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Reliable, dependable and committed
