This position will work with financial teams in Malaysia and International accounting teams in the UK and US. You will be responsible for driving cultural, operational changes and improvements in internal controls, risk management, and oversight of financial accounting, in an evolving and fast-growing business.

Description

· Keeping the financial books and records of all the Malaysian entities accurately and timely.

· Lead the GL and AP teams.

· Ensure that financial processes are efficient and control environment is strong at all times.

· Preparation of monthly financial reports in accordance to US GAAP, corporate requirements and ensuring all monthly financial reporting timelines are met and supporting schedules prepared.

· Reviews the work of the GL and AP team (including general ledger to ensure accuracy of posting, bank reconciliation, payment runs, fixed asset activities, accounts payable transactions, etc.)

· Ensure accounting system works effectively, working with IT on any change requests as needed.

· Respond to inquiries from the management team regarding financial results and ad-hoc inconsistency to reconciliations, take remedial action or refer to relevant personnel as appropriate.

· Review accounting reconciliation and ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely manner.

· Handle all statutory external audits, regulatory and tax reporting obligations by ensuring local filing deadlines are met for all Malaysia legal entities.

· Keep Malaysia policies, document and standardize procedures updated. Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place (SOX).

· Provide guidance to the clinic/centre teams on accounting as necessary.

· Work with internal audit teams to ensure internal audit issues are acted on and remediated.

· Clear confidence to act independently and to challenge established norms, rules and procedures as needed.

· Ensure inventory is recorded accurately to GL.

· Strong analytical skills especially with regards to understanding business risk, processes, procedures and operational controls.

· Integrate the accounting of new business acquisitions and ensure all statutory compliance such as audit and tax are met.

· Any other projects as assigned

Profile

The role requires strong relationship building skills and experience in collaboration with HQ and international financial teams. Ideal candidates will also possess the following skills, knowledge and attributes.

· Degree in Accountancy or ACCA/CPA

· Minimum 8 years of relevant experience

· MNC experience required

· Big 4 audit firm, audit experience preferred

· US GAAP knowledge preferred,

· Have experience in writing Policies and Procedures (SOX) preferred.

· Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

· Strong people management skills, have experience in managing a sizeable team of about 5-10

· Strong problem solving skills

· Hands on and willing to stretch "up" and "down" in responsibilities

· Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at all levels of the company, and foster a strong functional team. Clear communication to the team. Able to create a team learning environment, and to foster a positive fulfilling work environment.

· Have experience with Oracle or similar ERP system
