You will undertake a varied role providing accounts and audit advice to businesses, working in both the office and on clients premises. Your client base will range from commercial companies in service and manufacturing industries, to professional partnerships, financial services, entrepreneurs and charities.

Description

In the audit side of the role, your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Attending audit planning meetings.
  • Conducting audit fieldwork at client's premises.
  • Proactively participate in two way communication regarding audit progress and any issues with client and manager.
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the International Standards on Auditing and provide guidance to trainees.
  • Monitor budgeted time allocated for the audit and notify the manager if the audit will go over the set time frame.
  • Completion of the audit file and work with the team to ensure deadlines are met alongside audit senior.

On the accounts side:

  • Liaise and communicate with portfolio holder and client.
  • Draft accounts for supervisor/manager's review and approval to include:
  • Production of lead schedules to agree to accounts disclosure.
  • Production and reconciliation of control accounts.
  • Collation of appropriate evidence to support figures in the account.
  • Draft sole trader/company tax computations.
  • Raise relevant and coherent queries to assist with supervisor/manager review.

Profile

The successful candidate will be:

  • ACCA/ACA part-qualified.
  • AAT qualified or 2:1 at degree level.
  • At least 3 A-levels grade B or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years practice experience.
  • IT proficient with competent knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to deliver accurate work to deadlines.
  • Able to deliver excellent first-class customer service to clients.
  • Good communication, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Clean driving licence and access to own transport.
