We are seeking a motivated individual with fund reporting/treasury services/fund accounting and client facing experience to join our Treasurer’s Insights team working on one of State Street’s largest clients from either our Boston or Kansas City locations.

What you will be responsible for

As a Treasures Insights, Senior Associate you will

  • Participate in enhanced financial statement reviews and the creation of summarized reporting packages to be delivered to clients.
  • Responsible for the coordination of comments/questions accumulated in cycle and shared with other teams within the organization.
  • Assist in the execution of client-specific agreed upon procedures over their control environment.
  • Participate in the evaluation of current methods and processes and make recommendations to effectively implement changes and improvements to mitigate risk of errors or to enhance efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison to external professional services firms during financial statement audits and agreed upon procedures engagements.
  • Assist with the continued development and testing of automated data solutions for financial statement reviews.
  • Assist in the review and analysis of a broad array of financial, compliance, and tax matters for fund clients.
  • Participate in the preparation and dissemination of information to clients.
  • Help to develop and maintain client relationships, and respond timely to client requests to ensure that clients are satisfied with the level of service.

What we value

  • Experience performing controls reviews and/or auditing and/or preparation or review of financial statements preferred (SOC 1, SOX, AUPs).
  • Core knowledge of SEC, IRS and GAAP financial statement requirements and laws as they apply to investment companies.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Able to operate under pressure.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks, and execute upon concurrent assignments.
  • Able to work collaboratively with other team members, and also independently, when needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop business relationships, both within and outside of the organization.
  • Solid technology skills, including MS Office Suite.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Accounting, Business, or related field. CPA preferred but not required.
  • Two or more years of experience preferably with a professional services or accounting firm, or with a financial services organization.
