COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTANT - FMCG

Commercial Accountant - FMCG A unique and exciting opportunity exists for a Commercial Accountant within a very successful FMCG business. Due to substantial growth this will be an additional role which will report to the Finance Director.  The main responsibility of this role will be supporting the Commercial and Marketing Teams in the financial analysis and in the preparation of financial information. This person will work closely with the Senior National Account Manager, Marketing Manager and the wider Finance Team to ensure that appropriate financial controls and procedures are in place. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that adequate procedures, processes and controls are in place within the Commercial Team to maximise gross margin Provide input to the NPD process by performing initial top level commercial analysis Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly analysis of volumes, revenue, mix and gross margin by customer/sku Development of standardised daily, weekly and monthly reporting across the Commercial Team Review and analysis of customer marketing agreements and promotional activity to ensure returns are optimised Carry out post product launch reviews on volume and margin and action as required Preparation of internal budgets and forecasts Input to, review of and challenge of financial projections for customer Joint Business Plans/tenders Preparation of overhead budgets and forecasts for the Commercial Team to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved Review and assess current brand profitability and identify potential opportunities for profit enhancement Provide input to the Marketing teams to ensure that Commercial and Marketing plans are aligned from a financial perspective Analyse and evaluate current advertising and promotion spend to establish return on investment Implement innovative changes to systems, processes, reporting and metrics Develop and manage relationships with key external stakeholders (customers, etc.) Key Skills and Experience Required: Qualified Accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA,CPA) Minimum 2 years FMCG experience Strong excel skills Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal skills Attention to detail is essential Good Commercial Acumen Ambition, motivation and drive to succeed Ability to work independently and under pressure Ability to multitask Strong analytical, numerical and problem solving skills Ability to work as part of a multi-functional team Send CV for immediate review to Carmel McCabe-Curran via link below.
