ROLE @ MNPResponsibilities
- Work with our clients and our team to execute full cycle bookkeeping engagements
- Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) transactions
- Prepare T4s and ROEs
- Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process timely and accurately
- Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts, including but not limited to cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads
- Identify bookkeeping issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with manager or engagement partner and develop resolutions to resolve issues and errors
- Communicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments and installments
- Work with accounting software and provide support to clients
- Develop and maintain relationships with client management
- Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
Skills and Experience
- Two (2) to five (5) years of full cycle bookkeeping experience would be considered an asset
- Completion of certificate or diploma in accounting would be considered an asset
- Ability to administer and understand full cycle accounting in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of trial balances, general ledger (GL) databases, financial statement close processes and accounting matters
- Experience in preparing T4’s and ROEs
- Understanding of payroll, bookkeeping and record keeping practices on a manual and computerized system(s)
- Experience working with, or exposure to, accounting software such as Quickbooks and Simply Accounting is preferred
- Experience working with tax preparation software would be considered an asset
- Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
