Treasurer @ Charity Working in Romania

Our partner is a UK based charity working in Romania with people with special needs, primarily those with psychiatric problems. Their work centres on those living in institutions such as hospitals, recuperation centres and psychiatric units.

They are looking for a Treasurer to join their small board of Trustees. The charity is supported by a loyal group of supporters, many of whom give small monthly amounts or organise fundraising events. All funds raised are transferred to the sister charity in Romania which employs local staff.

The overall financial management of the charity needs to be put on a more efficient footing, which the Treasurer will lead on. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing the charity’s financial performance, advising the board on how to carry out its financial responsibilities and oversee the preparation and scrutiny of annual accounts and an annual budget.

The board meets 4-5 times each year and maintains contact between meetings through email and telephone. The total estimated time commitment is approximately 1-2 hours per week.

Please note that this is a voluntary position and therefore unremunerated.
