Who we are looking for

The Investment Oversight Analyst will provide support and work closely with the Head of Investments Ireland and EMEA Investments COO of State Street Global Advisors. The individual will be responsible for supporting Investment Oversight, including the monitoring of regulatory requirements and specific client mandates as well as other specialized areas of Investment Oversight. Specific responsibilities (non-exhaustive) will include:

  • Oversight of Investments activities including Outsourced functions.
  • Oversight of Investment Research and Corporate Access in line with MIFID requirements.
  • Provide support to the Head of Investments Ireland and EMEA Investments COO in meeting regulatory, policy and Legal Entity Governance expectations.
  • Board and Committee reporting: Guide the production of Investment Management reports for the EMEA Legal Entity Boards and Committees. Ensure Board and Committee actions assigned to the Investments team are dealt with.
  • Lead and participate in major projects for SSGA Europe Ltd. These projects will frequently have EMEA-wide and global implications.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives impacting the Investments team.
  • Review and assess errors and guideline breaches impacting Investment Management activities
  • Develop or enhance procedures and controls.
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors to facilitate control reviews.
  • Be able to work under pressure and collaborate with various levels of the organisation

Education and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the Financial sector including experience in Oversight or Governance activities
  • Strong understanding of mutual funds
  • Ability to understand operating processes and workflows
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various levels of the organisation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the EMEA based Regulations such as SFDR, MIFID, UCITS, AIF and COLL
