My client, a leader in the Financial Services industry, has created a new Financial Controller position to support the ongoing requirement of the operations. The business has aspirations to grow the services across the UK and throughout Europe and is looking to invest at this critical time in order to take market share.

Description

This Financial Controller position sits on the leadership team in Nottingham, working very closely with the Financial Accountant and the transnational finance team to deliver the robust financial results. The role will be accountable for regulatory reporting and delivery of accurate and timely reports to internal stakeholders including the local and Group Board as well as the external stakeholders - most notably the FCA.

Profile

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading a small team of 7 accountants to deliver robust monthly, quarterly and annual reports. The key for this role is the technical expertise that is likely to come from within the industry. The knowledge and skills the businesses would utilise:

• Sector knowledge including complex regulatory knowledge
• Excellent technical finance knowledge including UK GAAP, US GAAP, Sox and Solvency II
• Ability to communicate with intellectual business leaders and external stakeholders (Banks, Auditors)
• Group knowledge and reporting within a group would be highly preferential
