An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious ACA qualified finance professional to join a rapidly growing retirement village developer. With 14 operational villages and many more in the pipeline our client has significant backing from some of the world's largest investors.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for all financial reporting requirements to stakeholders in the joint venture structures and be the trusted business partner to the Development Director on new village developments, each around c£120+m of gross development value.

The Role

A talented, qualified, and experienced, finance professional to lead/support in the following areas:
  • Be the trusted Business Partner to the Development Director, supporting on them on new village developments and business development activities.
  • Manage the year end close process and prepare statutory accounts (consolidated and company only under FRS 102 and IFRS) and prepare year end reporting packs
  • Take a pro-active approach to lead and deliver the audit effectively and to tight deadlines
  • Corporate and tax structuring (working closely with our third-party tax advisors)
  • Prepare, develop and maintain policies and papers on technical accounting matters working independently and jointly with the Senior Financial Accounting Manager
  • Research on new accounting developments and implications to the Group
  • Full accountability for month end and quarterly report preparation and reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Bank loan drawdowns, covenant compliance and reporting
  • Arrange equity drawdowns and issue of capital
  • Assist forecasts and business plans as agreed with Financial planning
  • Assist on special projects and provides ad hoc reports as needed

The Successful Candidate will possess:
  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA
  • Experience in a top 10 audit firm
  • Experience of consolidation under UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Experience of preparing statutory accounts for Limited companies, LLP's
  • Ability to drive change, work independently and part of a team
  • Attention to detail and strong financial control skills
  • Adherence to deadlines, and the ability to work under the pressure of month end and year end deadlines
  • Expertise using Microsoft excel (expected use of pivot tables, Vlookup, graphs etc)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good communication skills
