We are currently working with an extremely reputable, family-run SME who are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their team based in Sittingbourne. This position carries responsibility for ensuring the integrity and operation of the primary financial controls of the business, as well as financial reporting and budgeting.
Key duties and responsibilities...
* Supervise the Accounting function, and ensure accuracy and completeness of the accounting records and compliance with all accounting-related laws and regulations
* Update the MI file on a monthly basis, and prepare the Monthly Financial Commentary and present the results to the Board of Directors at the Monthly Board Meetings
* Act as primary contact for the company's auditors and tax accountants
* Manage the Financial Budgeting and forecasting processes
* Cashflow forecasting
* Ensure the accounting Month-end close is completed according to the established standards
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes and qualifications...
* Undertaken some formal accounting qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA or ACA);
* Demonstrable experience in a similar role
* Strong management accounting skills
* Experience of VAT accounting
* Some experience of foreign exchange accounting would be ideal, but it not essential
* Experience of using Sage would be advantageous
* Mid-level Excel and Word competence and confidence.
