The opportunity

EY Government and Public Sector (“GPS”) is seeking a full-time Labor Accountant. The Labor Accountant will report to the GPS Assistant Controller.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day operations of GPS labor processing and ensuring adherence to policies, applicable law and regulations, procedures, and internal controls.

Your key responsibilities

  • Process labor
  • Monitor new user setup in Deltek T&E and assignment of charge codes
  • Assist in developing and implementing procedures and job aids related to labor
  • Draft internal communications related to time charging and labor
  • Work with employees to resolve issues
  • Generate reliable reports for management
  • Work with management to revise reporting, as necessary
  • Ensure data maintained by the Labor function is kept current, accurate and complete
  • Perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Support audits and execute corrective action plans
  • Interface with other GPS enablement teams as necessary including Talent Contracts Management, Subcontracts Management, Finance and Compliance
  • Develop tools and templates that facilitate process improvements
  • Participate in other accounting projects as directed by management

Skills and attributes for success

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills which allow for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting
  • Ability to write to communicate in various formats (e.g., draft policies, job aids/desktop guides, emails)
  • Ability to work with a diverse and geographically distributed team

To qualify for the role, must have

  • A Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant accounting / finance experience in a government contracting environment
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and US Government interpretations of them related to timekeeping and labor distribution
  • 3+ years of experience with Deltek Costpoint and Deltek Time & Expense
  • Experience with US Government floor checks
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
