We currently have a vacancy for a Financial Reporting and Services Manager on a contract of indefinite duration, in the Financial Control Division. This role is aligned with the Bank Professional 1 grade and the BP1 salary scale applies. Please click here for further information on our salary scales.
The purpose of the role is to lead efficient customer focused teams in the delivery of both employee and financial reporting services from the Division (namely Payroll, Pensions, Travel and Financial Reporting,) in a well-controlled and risk managed manner, providing a professional service to all stakeholders. Support the senior leadership team as required and represent the Division at senior committee and other fora.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and development of the team through effective direction, delegation, performance management and coaching to ensure all staff members can achieve the required performance standards and meet their own job enrichment/development objectives.
- Contribute to and influence the strategic direction of the Division, in conjunction with the Head of Division – Financial Control and Head of Function – Financial Control to ensure that progress against the relevant elements of the Strategic Plan and Divisional action plan are monitored/reviewed and any deviations are signalled early so that timely remedial action can be taken.
- Oversee the provision of all employee and financial reporting services from the Division, including Payroll, Pensions, Travel & Financial Reporting in accordance with the Divisional Strategy, including supporting the business with appropriate financial support to contribute to safeguarding the integrity and reputation of the Central Bank’s finances.
- Empower direct reports to “own their areas” and foster a culture of collaboration to ensure a high performing, well-motivated team that is able to manage peaks and troughs of activity, in particular across the relevant service areas.
- Lead continuous improvement projects relating to the provision of operational services and control processes for the area to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Bank’s operations.
- Represent the Division as a credible thought leader with internal and external stakeholders and, through participation in National, European and International fora, as appropriate, ensuring a valuable contribution is made by the division, including direct reports, and relevant issues are identified and/ or communicated.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant, or other similar Financial Discipline.
- Membership of the professional body, Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI), the Association of Chartered
- Certified Accountants (ACCA), or the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), is an indispensable condition of the tenure of the employment.
- Considerable experience at a senior financial management level in a large organisation, to include experience of managing people.
- Experience in managing an operational function delivering an excellent service to all stakeholders.
- Experience in overseeing a financial reporting area ensuring timely and high quality monthly and annual reports.
- Extensive understanding/experience of the industry
- Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, planning and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to critically assess complex/once off issues and problems with the ability to distil significant volumes of information, identifying solutions for root causes of issues.
- Thought leader in the relevant areas.
- Strong knowledge of the regulatory and legal frameworks.
- Strong up to date knowledge of accounting standards and pension regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in particular the ability to relate to senior management and staff.
- Excellent capability in managing and deliver difficult/contentious issues with others.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Strong people management, coaching and leadership skills.
- Acting professionally, ethically and with integrity
