Are you a part qualified accountant looking for the next step in your career? Would you like the opportunity to work some of the biggest engineering projects in the UK? We currently have a vacancy for an Accountant at our site in Frimley or Scotstoun.

Providing support to the Finance Manager, you will have a high level of interaction with a multitude of stakeholders both inside and outside of the finance department, and really have the chance to get involved in the operational aspects of the business.

This role will provide you with full support to becoming fully qualified both in terms of study leave and financial contribution towards your studies as well as plenty of opportunities for career development throughout the wider business.

Your main responsibilities as an Accountant will involve:

Managing the internal investment process ensuring that the finance is done effectively

Managing the Proposals and Tenders process ensuring that the finance is done effectively

Supporting and producing information for and reviewing bids

Attending and actively supporting and contributing to Control Account Manager Reviews

Overseeing monthly cost allocation and verification processes, including supplier invoice approval, review of labour bookings, authorisation of journals, labour transfers and accruals

Providing project reporting into the Finance reporting Team for prelims, Month end and IBP with clear articulation of variances

Your skills and qualifications:

Part qualified in a relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

Strong excel skills

Experience and knowledge of SAP would be beneficial

Experience of working on commercial proposals or business development bids would be desirable

You will be able to work as part of a team and you should be able to challenge and question others effectively and possess highly effective communication, persuasion and influencing skills at all levels. You will be able to build relationships quickly and effectively as well as being able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism when interacting with managers and budget holders. You should be proactive in seeking continuous improvement.

Location: Frimley or Scotstoun

Salary: £25,000 - £31,000 dependant on experience
