They have created a new Finance Manager to join the team and take ownership of the finance function for the business, based in Loughborough.

Description

The Finance Manager position includes the following duties:

• Manage the main finance function for the organisation, covering all aspects of management accounts, reconciliation work, VAT credit control, sales and purchase ledger
• Overseeing the daily invoice posting, invoice matching to stock systems, expenses, statement reconciliations, unallocated cash, and general accounting duties
• Monthly management of accruals and prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Completing trial balance and completion of month-end closure of the financial ledgers
• Cash flow management and forecasting, ensuring funds are in the right place at the right time
• Processing quarterly VAT Returns
• Bank reconciliations and providing regular information to the key stake holders
• Liaison with bank, insurance contacts, external auditors & government bodies
• Assist the Finance Director in commercial contract negotiations
• Responsibility for ad hoc projects and office management responsibilities or duties that need performing to help the company succeed

Profile

The successful applicant for the Finance Manager role will possess the following attributes and skill sets:

• Part-qualified and actively studying a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/AAT) or QBE
• Strong technical accounting knowledge gained in a similar role
• This is an incredibly hands on role that requires the successful candidate to take ownership, use initiative, problem solve and add value
• A "Can do" attitude
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel - VLOOKUP's, pivot tables and spreadsheets
