As part of a team of three people, the role is to oversee on a day-to-day basis all aspects of the financial management of the group whilst supporting/partnering the MD in delivering on corporate objectives.

The client is a highly successful family owned group specialising in the supply high quality ingredients to the global food industry.

Description

  • Regular, timely and accurate management accounts and KPIs with commentary for key stakeholders
  • Budget preparation working alongside divisional heads
  • Overseeing day-to-day transactional processing including sales and purchase invoices
  • All treasury activities including bank reconciliations, working capital management and FX risk strategies, practices and accounting
  • Both Company and HMRC compliance matters including VAT returns, corporate tax, company house filings etc
  • Regular balance sheet reconciliations including prepayments, accruals, and physical stock held in multiple warehouses, fixed assets etc
  • Year-end activities including individual and group statutory accounts prep, audit and related filings
  • Working with external accountant to prepare corporate tax returns and quarterly payments
  • A key member of the project team responsible for delivering the successful transition from Sage to the new cloud based Microsoft Dynamics accounting system and integrated CRM

Profile

  • Qualified accountant who has worked with or in a SME environment and remains willing to roll up one's sleeves as necessary
  • An efficient and effective operator with an ability to develop and implement slick and efficient practises and end to end processes that allow more time to be spent on high value added activities
  • Strong Excel skills that can produce monthly management packs and analysis that provide meaningful insights into the performance of the business
  • An excellent communicator comfortable working alongside peers, management, advisors, customers, suppliers and all other stakeholders
  • High integrity, good organisational and attention to detail skills as expected for the role
  • A calm but enthusiastic team player with a strong mindset of continuous improvement and an interest in all aspects of the business
