How will I help?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager to join our high-performing Group Audit team. You will have direct interactions with the Treasury and Finance business units. You will execute independent reviews of controls, frameworks, systems, policies and procedures, and deep dives across the Westpac Group and identify areas for remediation and opportunities for enhancement.

Major accountabilities
  • Be the primary driver of internal audit planning for the Treasury Portfolio, including identification of key processes, risks, and controls for testing (and providing support for Finance portfolio as required).
  • Identifying board level insights that matter, focusing on highest risk areas and influencing a stronger control environment.
  • Determine scope for testing the design and operating effectiveness of controls based on risk,
  • Oversee the delivery of audits including framing and communication of issues, recommendations, and reports.
  • Collaborate with Group Audit subject matter experts across Westpac, including market risks modelling/valuations, technology, data analytics, risk, and compliance, to increase effectiveness and efficiency of assurance.

What do I need?

We are seeking a high-performing Senior Manager with the following knowledge, skills and experience:
  • At least 10 years of experience in assurance (internal or external audit), consulting (Big 4 audit firms), Risk (1LOD or 2LOD), or Treasury operation roles.
  • Candidates with a mixture of experience in assurance and risk or operational roles are highly desirable.
  • Strong exposure to Treasury and Financial Markets.
  • Analytical skills and data analysis and or interrogation experience are desirable.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) or Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or Institute of Internal Audit (IIA)
