Description

The Payroll Advisor position for this superb Not for Profit and Charitries sector business based in Coventry (working hybrid part office, part home) will involve:

  • Responsible for providing expert advice for payroll queries taking prompt and effective action and using the call logging system, updating the HR information system and being the functional experts for the Payroll provision across the Group.
  • Undertake a range of duties in support of the administration of payroll and general pension queries, with escalation to the Pension Specialists where necessary, for the Group.
  • Provide a customer focussed, accurate and timely payroll service by prioritising workload to achieve all deadlines (legal and organisation imposed).
  • Undertake the operation of a computerised payroll system, including data input and maintenance of personal and bank details for all employers within the Group
  • Checking and processing of employee claims for payment
  • Checking of payroll input and to make amendments as required
  • Calculate the payment of occupational and statutory sick pay in accordance with appropriate legislation
  • Undertake the payroll administration aspects for all new employees within the Group, including setting them up on the appropriate payroll system
  • Ensuring all relevant information is accurately captured and input, especially surrounding information required for RTI
  • Checking payment figures and maintaining payroll internal files
  • Escalation point for Customer Advisors, whether first or second line support, on any technical or detailed payroll enquiries or queries received into the Service Centre
  • Process and maintain records for Attachment of Earnings Orders, Student Loan repayments and Court Orders, as required
  • Assist with the administration of the occupational pension schemes by undertaking the completion of standard forms and returns and providing information to staff as required including compliance with Auto enrolment/re-enrolment legislation
  • Deal with telephone enquiries and correspondence from external agencies, eg. Inland Revenue, Benefits Agency.
  • Undertake manual payroll calculations as required

Profile

To be successful in this Payroll Advisor position you will be a knowledgeable Payroll specialist with full understanding of all payroll legislation. You will be highly communicative, able to advise, explain and answer queries effectively from staff and be highly computer literate. Ability to manually calculate payroll would be highly desireable. Knowledge across all payroll work, including thorough working knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, SSP, SMP, SAP is essential.
