Finance Manager
Robert Walters are proud to be working with a growing business who are looking for an inspiring and talented Finance Manager to support their finance team based in Chester. This is a great opportunity an active studier with experience to develop their financial management experience within a vibrant and fast paced environment.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller responsibilities include:
- Responsible for all financial operations of individual business unit, including P&L, Balance Sheet & Cashflow, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to key stakeholders.
- Providing weekly management information and analysis including detailed revenue & margin analysis to drive profitability
- Pro-actively engaging with non-finance senior stakeholders to ensure they are managing their costs effectively
- Management and development of Junior MA
- Cashflow management & forecasting
- Oversee payroll process and sign off, working with the finance team to guide and implement efficiencies, self-sufficient team
- Working with auditors as part of the year end statutory process
- Continuous process improvement, ensuring a robust control framework across operational finance, identifying and highlighting areas of risk
- Adhere to professional accounting standards and policies supporting audit to minimise risk or fraud
- Ad hoc financial projects and analysis as directed by the Group Financial Controller and the Senior Management Team.
Skills/Experience
- A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), otherwise working towards this
- Ability to thrive within a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects with a "hands-on" approach to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Excellent communication skills are a key element in this role as you will be liaising across multiply functions at all levels including senior stakeholders
- A desire to continuously drive improvements around financial control and system process
- Highly proficient Excel user (pivot & look up tables, modelling financial data)
- Understanding of payroll legislation advantageous
- Staff management experience desirable (monthly reviews, performance reviews as required)
