In a nutshell

This role is responsible for supporting the creation of the framework and delivery of the Future Finance Commercial & Retail reporting needs across the Finance Division. The role will work alongside the rest of the Future Finance team to ensure close links across the programme as well as being a key point of contact for the Finance Division. The primary focus of the role will be steered towards the Commercial & Retail Finance reporting requirements.

What you need to do
  • Support the Future Finance team to understand the reporting requirements across the Finance Division
  • Interpret current reporting requirements and be prepared to challenge the 'status quo' to deliver the next generation of reports and KPI's
  • Identify where there may be duplication across teams and help drive out efficiencies
  • Where required, attend regular department meetings
  • Build an external perspective and use outputs to engage and influence the business and finance colleagues alike
  • Complete ad hoc / bespoke analysis for the business area as required to drive improvements
  • Work with our data team (ADA) & engineering team as required to complete gap analysis on 'Future State' reporting requirements as well as determining the data requirements
  • Build relationships across the Finance Division and become the key conduit for ADA resource requirements
  • Support and challenge the business to manage strategic projects and initiatives
  • Run Finance Basics master classes with wider business and operational teams where required
  • Success in this role will mean being able to deliver timely, robust and accurate analysis; translating data into valuable business insight, communicating all relevant financial and non-financial information when needed


What you need to know and show
  • Qualified accountant (or studying towards an accounting qualification)
  • Strong commercial acumen with a focus on driving excellent financial and commercial performance
  • Proven experience of analysing and interpreting data to identify opportunities and actively participate in the operational decision-making process
  • Effective presentational skills, both verbal and written with strong attention to detail
  • Curiosity beyond traditional finance boundaries and ability to understand key business drivers
  • Ability to effectively communicate and challenge senior stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen to manage financial performance
  • Self-motivated team player, able to work autonomously, build and utilise a broader cross-functional network
  • Ability to prioritise workload whilst managing business and finance stakeholder expectations in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Proven ability and desire to deliver change


What decisions I can make including budget
  • Support with the prioritisation of reporting / scoping Future Finance reporting projects in line with agreed quality and timescales


Directly or indirectly manages
  • Manage the day to day tasks and deliverables of all 'owned' Future Finance projects and report key messages through the Future Finance Governance Framework
