Trainee Accountant – Full time (Monday to Friday flexibly)

Stockport, Cheshire

Salary: Minimum wage to £22,500 (depending on experience)

You will have/be:

  • AAT Level 2 or Level 3 qualification or be studying towards this level or similar qualification.
  • Some experience in an accounting role in practice or in industry.
  • Familiar with the basic principles of accounting and bookkeeping, ideally a working knowledge of accruals and prepayments.
  • Qualification in Mathematics to at least GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Good interpersonal skills to be confident in communicating with clients and team members in a professional manner.
  • Good administration and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable and experienced in working to meet deadlines.
  • Driven and proactive.
  • A team worker.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.

You will:

  • Carry out regular bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT Returns.
  • Receive training and carry out some audit work from time to time.
  • Carry out some everyday administrative duties.
  • Assisting with the production of year end statutory accounts.
  • Communicate with clients on a regular basis, either by phone, email or in person.
  • Receive training and support wherever necessary.
