Tax Accountant, People Advisory Services, Mobility (Senior) (Multiple Positions), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Salt Lake City, UT.

Assist clients in managing the cost and risks involved in their Human Resource plans, programs and systems. Administer international assignment programs by delivering expatriate tax filing and assignment-related calculations; developing and implementing policies and strategic tax planning solutions; assisting clients with program administration (piecemeal or full outsourcing); advising on employee compensation, including foreign payroll issues, international implications of equity plans, etc.; and providing other international assignment-related projects/services. Establish/maintain long-term collaborative relationships with our clients and internal colleagues. Serve as single point of contact for engagements. Possess and increase their understanding of expatriate tax issues. Demonstrate an understating of basic tax concepts and actively pursue increased tax knowledge through client assignments and current tax developments. Coordinate accurate quality US tax returns for assignees and coordinate worldwide foreign tax filings as appropriate. Prepare/review international assignment-related calculations such as tax cost projections, tax equalization calculations, hypothetical tax calculations, etc. Conduct research on various topics such as technical or treaty interpretation/application, regulatory issues, and payroll matters. Prepare the related communications for the client. Develop and supervise the staff's technical skills, client service skills and engagement management skills, including providing input in performance discussions. Assist EY Partners, Senior Managers, and Managers on proposals and new business opportunities, as requested

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law or related field, plus 2 years of related work experience; OR, a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law or related field, plus 1 year of related work experience.

Of required experience, must have 1 year of experience in individual income taxation; IRC Section 911 (foreign earned income exclusion) rules and regulations; state tax residency and domicile concepts; income tax treaties; optimizing tax positions to eliminate double taxation; and general foreign country income taxation methodology.

Must have 1 year of experience in automated tax processing systems, including CCH or GoSystems, Tax Cost Estimator, and Microsoft Office tools.

Must have 1 year of recent experience in Foreign Financial Asset Reporting (Form 8938).

Must have 1 year of experience working on client servicing teams consisting of two or more staff members.

Must have 1 year of recent experience in expatriate tax with a mid-size/regional to large sized/national public accounting firm or professional services firm.

Requires up to 10% travel to serve client needs.
