What will the apprentice be doing?
-Supporting the Lead Accountant
-Overseeing the fixed asset register and year end accounting of fixed assets, providing support and guidance
-Supporting the Systems team in the development of the Council's Oracle financial systems to improve the efficiency and robustness
-Producing reports which provide an overview of Council's financial position
-Reviewing Balance Sheet, coordinating reconciliations across Corporate Finance, and advising Lead Accountant of anomalies and issues.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The position will support the completion of Accountancy or taxation Professional Level 7 through an apretniceship provider and be mentored by team colleagues in the office. With 20% of your working week for study,whilst working in a key role helping to deliver the Council's core financial objectives.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The position described is what you would be working towards while you complete your apprenticeship. Please note there is no guarantee of a permanent position.
