Your field of responsibility

An outstanding opportunity to join us, where your role as Group Tax Change lead is critical to the successful delivery of the Group Tax multi-year strategy. It requires a thorough knowledge of the principles of both direct and indirect taxes, an understanding of evolving tax authority strategies for direct interrogation and manipulation of data and an ability to comfortably and seamlessly operate with: Tax SMEs, Data & IT Architects, Data Security and Control Specialists, IT Developers and external Solution Vendors.

As an expert in delivering change, you will:

  • Work with the Group Tax Change Board to shape the change portfolio maintaining risk within acceptable tolerance whilst maximizing delivery;
  • Challenge estimates and resource requests, optimizing overall portfolio spend;
  • Engage with business partners ensuring each project in the change portfolio clearly articulates the problem statement and defines success measures;
  • Lead the sourcing process across the change portfolio;
  • Partner and coordinate with IT, ensuring the scope and infrastructure capability requirements are documented and understood;
  • Operate overall governance for the change portfolio providing relevant and transparent delivery KPI’s to the Group Tax change Board;
  • Support each project Sponsor in realizing business outcomes and benefits; and,
  • Oversee project transition into BaU and direct Mandatory PIRs.

Your future colleagues

This role will report directly to CFO Change but will be accountable to the Group Tax Portfolio Change Board responsible for the successful implementation of Group Tax change initiatives globally.

The Finance organization is making greater use of big data technology, developing a single big data platform, which Group Tax will leverage, implementing critical outcomes in a consistent, sustainable and controlled way. Group Tax is part way through a multi-year strategic-initiative deploying externally and internally sourced applications, utilizing cloud technologies where appropriate.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for the following:

  • Proven experience within CFO / Group Tax functions of banks;
  • Understanding of CFO and Group Tax operating models, data architecture and core applications;
  • Detailed knowledge of direct and indirect taxes and transfer pricing concepts;
  • Extensive experience of project portfolio management;
  • A proven track record of managing successful project delivery;
  • Understanding of sourcing models and experience delivering third party solutions (cloud and non-cloud);
  • Proven ability to lead & guide mixed teams of Tax SMEs, Data & IT Architects, Data Security and Control Specialists, IT Developers and external Solution Vendors;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentational) with developed soft skills. Extensive experience of stakeholder management at senior levels;
  • Obsession with outcomes and delivery and demonstrate ability to learn new things; and
