Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the preparation of timely, accurate and relevant financial management information.
Responsibilities
  • Working alongside AP to create new supplier and records, update and maintain the integrity of these records.
  • Capture and register supplier invoices received via the AP dropbox on a daily basis.
  • Monitor daily communications received via the AP dropbox and answer all supplier queries.
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • 'Edit and match' invoices to existing PO's ensuring VAT is properly accounted for, working with other departments in the company to resolve any variances
  • Assist with scheduling weekly payments including international and foreign payments.
  • Run AP aging reports. Monitor and ensure no debit balances appear on the ledger.
  • Assist with posting daily, weekly direct debits and other bank transactions.
  • Assist with completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with the credit card process. .
  • Assist with chasing debt.
  • Prepare and enter journals into the system.
  • Support the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties.
  • Work with spreadsheets, and other finance systems (Sun, Proactis, Hyperion)


Skills / Qualifications Required
  • Studier with AAT, CIMA/ACCA entry / foundation level or with relevant QBE in a finance environment
  • Experience of Accounts Payable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly energetic and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
  • Good knowledge of excel
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic / high growth environment
  • Proactive & solution-focused, good planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and being flexible in approach
  • Strong aptitude for business process improvement
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to take initiative in problem solvin
