Job Description

Department of Professional Practice supports KPMG Audit professionals in accounting, auditing and reporting matters. We achieve this mission by providing the following services:

  • Provide support to professionals on accounting, auditing and reporting matters.
  • The role requires the candidate to have strong knowledge of IFRS and being able to both review and prepare technical papers for discussion with global industry/subject matter experts
  • Staying abreast of latest developments, amendments to/new accounting and auditing standards
  • Work closely with other large firms to discuss and agree responses to common technical issues and related regional challenges.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate training on current accounting, auditing and reporting issues

Responsibilities

  • Respond to accounting queries raised by audit professionals
  • Technical review of financial statements
  • Provide technical and administrative support to Head of DPP.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members
  • Implement an effective process to collate and disseminate information on accounting and regulatory updates and its impact on Audit at large.

Qualifications and skills

  • Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, ACA,CA or equivalent).
  • High performer with 7-8 years’ experience and proven track record with a large firm in audit and/or technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) and International Auditing Standards (ISAs)
  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Team player, with the ability to multi-task, as well as flexible and can work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English. Strong ability to structure and write technical papers.
