Your field of responsibility

Join us as a Product Controller in the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Team. Our primary responsibility is to ensure complete, accurate and timely reporting of the Firm’s P&L, Balance Sheet along with detailed Analysis. Product Control also guards the banks trading activities via the provision of reliable and significant financial information provided to the business managers, external business partners and other relevant internal constituents.

As a VP in product control Analytics, you will: 

  • Have end to end ownership of team producing daily P&L production and supervisory review of P&L production processes including: FOBO Review, P&L Analysis, P&L Reporting, P&L Commentary, Month End Cut Off Controls & SOX Testing
  • Drive resolution of issues that arise from the day to day and monthly processes with a view to resolving these in an efficient and timely manner
  • Seek to ensure the P&L production and analytical function are performing satisfactory in Key Performance Indicators and KRI for the control function
  • Perform validation and control around the PnL & Balance Sheet with a license to challenge valuation and accounting methodologies, residual trading and operational risks and the overall impact on the bank
  • Analytically evaluate the performance of trading desks to help prepare commercial and business focused commentary for the use of senior management and regulators
  • Seek to obtain an understanding of the underlying businesses and develop, maintain and govern an effective control framework
  • Prepare and review key disclosures from accounting disclosure such as Fair Value leveling (FAS 157) to regulatory disclosures
  • Develop and drive a change agenda with a focus on not only delivering efficiencies but also to meet an ever challenging regulatory environment
  • Review and implement improvements in execution over the wider group
  • Manage relationships and representing the PC agenda in different change and business partner meeting with functions such as Front Office, COO, CFO Change, IT Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting, Central Reporting etc.
  • Be responsible for the training and career development of the team
  • Lead and manage the team to ensure that the deliverables are timely met and in a first class quality

Your skills and experience 

Roles in Product Control Analytics are business facing, technical and detail oriented. Hence even managerial positions will require candidate to undertake hands – on tasks.

We are looking for candidates with following background / experiences: 

  • Work experience of 12+ years in Financial Services industry
  • Outstanding people management & team leadership (team size of 15) 
  • 8+ years of Product Control experience
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields 
  • Detailed knowledge around accounting and valuation of the aforementioned products 
  • Have a proven control focused attitude and hands-on approach to investigating issues 
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentational) skills 
  • Strong team leader who can work closely across locations 
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value diverse perspectives
