Interim Management Accountant

The purpose of the Interim Management Accountant, based in Sheffield, is to take responsibility for the month end process in a manufacturing environment, delivering commercial insight to non-finance personnel around the site and wider group.

My client is a fast-growing manufacturing business with sites around the country. They are part of a highly successful group and are now looking for a strong Management Accountant to join them.

Description

The Sheffield based Interim Management Accountant role requires a strong, commercially minded candidate with the following experience already on their CV:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, Year End stats and tax pack
• Assist with preparation of annual budget, meeting with budget holders to discuss results and advise on how best to influence their numbers

• Business partner with sales, procurement, marketing, engineering, IT and other key areas of the business

• Preparation of ad hoc financial and management information as requested by all stakeholders

• Report on and set KPI's for finance and wider business

• Preparing and analysing stock variance information as well as guidance to the stock count team on the best way for counting and posting all stock records

• Producing a gross margin report with commentary explaining variances

• Preparing and analysing standard cost variances

• Undertake and take a lead role in IT Business Development projects

• Be a point of contact for the Group IT Team

• To get involved in any ad-hoc projects and to provide training on all areas of the Group

• Undertake ad-hoc finance tasks during the month end or year end process

Profile

• Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or Qualified By Experience in manufacturing
• Manufacturing experience is essential, in particular experience of costing and stock analysis
• Strong experience as Management Accountant in previous roles
• Excellent systems knowledge, in particular with Excel
• Must be available on very short notice (max 1 week)

Job Offer

The Interim Management Accountant position offers:

• £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
• Temporary to potential permanent role
• 3-6 months (or transition to permanent)
