Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Project Accountant to join the Projects, Planning and Costing Team, part of the DBTH Finance Department.

This role offers a variety of experience within the Finance Department and is an ideal development opportunity, offering involvement in various projects, planning, external reporting and our capital programme.

As a Project Accountant, you will support the Senior Projects and Planning Accountant in delivering a proactive, comprehensive and value adding management accounting service to areas of the Trust.

You will be a CCAB/CIMA qualified accountant with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload. The ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information to non-financial managers is essential, as is the ability to demonstrate initiative.

In return, you will be an important part of a committed and high performing finance team, as well as partnering with clinical and operational colleagues, gaining valuable experience in an ever changing and challenging acute NHS Foundation Trust.

The main duties include but are not limited to:
  • Support the Divisions and Corporate Directorates on a wide range of financial issues to ensure the effective and efficient use of available resources
  • Business, financial planning and costing
  • Financial monitoring and reporting

  • Deputise for the Senior Projects and Planning Accountant as required

Person specification

Experience
Essential criteria
  • Minimum 2 Years Experience in Management Accountant Role
  • Advance IT Literate


Desirable criteria
  • Working Experience in Acute Trust
  • Experience Delivering Cost Improvement Schemes
  • Experience of a large complex public organisation along with an undertsanding of the operational aspects of the organisation


Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • CCAB Accounting - Part/Fully Qualified


Interpersonal Skills

  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff both verbally and in writing


Organisational Skills

  • Be innovative with strong fact finding and problem solving skills
