Join ACCA and 100s of employers at a Virtual Careers Fair in 2021
Coming to a place near you soon, an ACCA Virtual Careers Fair.
In fact, when we say ‘near you’, we mean anywhere you are with a smartphone or a computer — you could be at home, school, college or university, or in a cafe or a park, wherever you’re safe and comfortable.
What are ACCA’s Virtual Careers Fairs?
ACCA’s Virtual Careers Fairs (VCFs) are so close to the real thing — a careers fair you attend in person — you’ll be amazed.
Employers have dynamic web pages (imagine a stall or stand at a regular careers fair) where they invite applications from ACCA members and future members for thousands of local and global jobs. Here you can interact with their representatives and ask questions using video, voice or text.
Here are some of the big names that have recently attended looking for ACCA candidates: Baker Tilly, Grant Thornton, Mazars, Shinewing, AMD, Baker Hughes, DHL, Shell, Roche, CIMB, Maybank, Standard Chartered, World Health Organisation, Dell, Citi, Arla, GSK, State Street, Nestlé and Unilever.
Likewise, universities and ACCA’s Approved Learning Providers (ALPs) are also on hand to discuss and promote their courses.
You can also watch live and recorded webinars with employability experts, testimonials from local members and professional insight videos.
Grow your network
A LinkedIn survey found that 85% of jobs are filled via networking. The VCFs are amazing opportunities to grow your network not only in quantity but more importantly in quality. You’ll interact directly with employers and ALP representatives, careers experts and fellow attendees. If you make the most of a VCF, you could walk away not only with a job but a bulging contact book.
We all love stats…
In 2020 there were 12 VCFs: Ireland, Singapore, Middle East, Romania, Mauritius, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Malaysia, China, UK, India and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
These attracted a total of 20,246 attendees who were able to apply to 3,625 jobs posted by 429 employers.
Of the big name employers, the following brought in the most jobs to all the fairs: PwC: 178; EY: 175; BDO: 124; KPMG: 113; and Deloitte: 60.
ACCA Careers: global jobs and career advice
The incredibly popular ACCA Careers advice area of the VCFs showcases CV and career experts via live chats, webinars and articles that cover CV writing, interview skills, job hunting in changing landscape, career change and coping with redundancy. There is also the opportunity to have your CV assessed by one of our experts.
Many of the employers who come to the VCFs recruit throughout the year on the ACCA Careers job board, so if you’re not already familiar with it, you should take a look.
And it’s really easy to register and upload your CV, which will make applying for jobs at a VCF a lot easier, as the majority of the applications at VCFs go through the ACCA Careers site.
ACCA and the global job market
So why is ACCA running VCFs? The Covid-19 pandemic has caused everyone to adapt how they do things, and we’re no different. We also understand that the pandemic has made things harder on people’s careers and dreams.
But accountancy and finance is so important for organisations seeking to navigate the crisis and to recover strongly when things look better. There are so many employers all over the world who want ACCA talent, but they are struggling to find them, as the pandemic has disrupted how they normally engage and hire potential candidates.
So we started the VCFs to make these connections. Our members and future members can showcase their skills and qualities to employers and educators who all understand the value of the ACCA Qualification and are planning for a future beyond the crisis.

What employers think of ACCA’s VCFs
Sagar Ahuja, Head - F&A Outsourcing
It was the second time we’d participated in an ACCA VCF. I was amazed with ACCA’s culture of adaptability and embracing changes so quickly, which has proven to be a panacea in Covid times where you can meet such a large pool of talent in a virtual setting. The whole set up was professional, we did a variety of postings for junior and senior positions. Consequently, the results were phenomenal and now we have almost 25-30 people within my organisation who are pursuing ACCA. All in all, a very positive experience and would recommend more and more students and employers to join in.
Karan Mahindru, Manager operations
The VCF was an undoubtedly successful event. We received overwhelming inquires and applications from students and members. We are proud to share that we hired three candidates and rolled out an offer letter to another candidate. We have more positions opening and will keep you posted about successful placements, as we look for more ACCA pursuing candidates.
Lalit Katyal, CFO – Enterprise Division (North America & APAC)
This is the first time we’d participated in an ACCA VCF. It was a professionally managed event with separate networking rooms for each employer and lots of content to actively engage the candidates. I loved the energy and vibrancy of the young ACCA professionals. I look forward to future events.
Livia Archip, Senior associate, HR
The VCF was the first of its kind for me. It is a much more convenient way for candidates to visualise and find information about both the job vacancies and the company. We definitely want to participate in future VCFs.
Shakul Malik, HR business partner
It was a great experience for us and helped a great deal in terms of visibility. I thank ACCA for providing such a beneficial platform. Will look forward to participating in more of such events.
Angeline Hepziba, HR manager
Thanks for giving our organisation a great opportunity to participate in the VCF. Also during the pandemic, ACCA has really come out with a great idea with all the safety measures.
