Description:
Amazon Finance Operations was created to support rapid growth across all business units. The goal of the team is to deliver seamless procure-to-pay and order-to-cash process that enable Amazon's ongoing expansion within EMEA and across the globe. We are seeking an experienced candidate to work closely with both Finance Operations and business teams to identify, analyse, create, develop, and innovate solutions that lead to improvements in our end to end processes for our vendors and customers.

The Finance Operations Business Partnering team is embedded with the business, working closely with Vendor Management, Operations, Technology and other Finance teams, across our multiple business units. This fast developing department now needs a Finance Manager to support our Transportation business. The role will focus primarily on Non-Inventory Shipments, with freight being the primary driver of payment defect in EMEA owing to the complexity of tax requirements within our region which we need to address.
This is an exciting role, at the heart of Amazon's European finance group. It involves a large number of legal entities and business areas across 14 countries business partnering, building additional functionalities, streamlining processes and driving programmatic improvement initiatives. Our operations environment presents great challenges in dealing with front line management, driving scalable and continuous improvement including controllership.

We're not an average retailer and this is definitely not your average Finance position. We'll give you the opportunity to really make a difference in a high growth environment where your ability to identify and drive change will be key. You will define and establish best practice and coordinate policies with the Finance Operations leadership team based out of worldwide Amazon locations.

Responsibilities will include:
• You will partner our Global Transportation Solutions, Trans-Controllership, Accounting and other upstream teams such as FC Operations to set up a long term scalable process to automate the payment process for duty, VAT and Brokerage charges for non-inventory goods
• You will operate as the EMEA Business Partner lead for expansion and transformation projects in the region
• Partner the Transportation teams in our Seattle Head Office to ensure the technology solutions defined globally take into account European needs and that duty payments are made on time with the correct level of monitoring.
• This will include representing the voice of both internal and external customers of our fundamental finance processes, ensuring those customers are at the heart of technology and process change.
• You will lead and drive Senior Management meetings with Business Partners on key Finance Operations issues and drive business decisions
• You will ensure that Finance Operations activities are aligned with the overall strategy and objectives of the Global Finance Operations organization
• You will ensure that the respective activities of the regions are operated in a highly controlled manner (with respect to existing Compliance & Policies procedures)
• You will build better, scalable models and overcome language support challenges in a cost effective way through the implementation of better tools, technologies and best practice.
• Establish metrics, reporting and review mechanisms to enable data driven decision making at pace as well as setting up repeatable and scalable mechanisms
• Applying knowledge of multiple reporting systems to deliver solutions. This requires advanced computer literacy (MS Office, especially Excel) and the aptitude to understand system dependencies.
• Supporting internal customer groups in Finance, Technology, Operations, Transportation Business, Shared Services and Project Management
