The opportunity

EY is looking for Manager for Technology Consulting to lead the team in the execution of clients’ assignments in the areas of:

  • Information management and business intelligence
  • IT strategy, architecture and solution design (including package solutions)
  • IT operational effectiveness and business case development
  • Program and project management
  • IT Architecture
  • Your key responsibilities:

    Project Management

  • Determine the project approach, milestones and schedule. Develop detailed project work plan
  • Define the project iterations strategy. Manage and evaluate iterations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Management Plan, including the configuration management, risk management, issue management, and communication plans.
  • Work with vendor and system analysts to collect business, functional and non-functional detailed requirements.
  • Review all requirements to validate they are aligned to the project objectives and SOW.
  • Ensure that all requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected stakeholders.
  • Develop and/or review estimates and estimating assumptions for the project’s schedule, effort, and cost using established estimating models, best practices, and past experience. The resulting estimates account for all activities in the project scope, including project management and application development tasks, software quality assurance reviews, and vendor and contract management activities.
  • Define the roles and responsibilities of project team members and BAU supporting teams. Recruit project team members if necessary.
  • Ensure that project resources receive necessary training and apply effectively to tasks.
  • Provide timely feedback to project resources on their deliverable quality.
  • Conduct project kick off and regular project meetings to align project team to the long term, milestone and weekly goals.
  • Prepare meeting agenda in advance and document thorough meeting minutes within the same day of meeting.
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations.
  • Manage relationships with all vendors and sub-contractors. Ensure that the project team follows all quality assurance processes, including periodic reviews and transitions.
  • Ensure all project gate documents, e.g. BRD, FSD, SIT, UAT, Closure, etc, are signed off by the corresponding stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track the progress at each project phases, eg Development, Testing, Deployment & ensure timely deliverables
  • Control

  • Monitor deliverable progress of vendors and sub contractors, and adherence to the SOW and contract.
  • Measure project progress at clearly defined points in the SDLC to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks. Make adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain financial controls and systems for recording, monitoring, forecasting and budgeting of all project expenditure.
  • Review, collate, maintain and highlight changes to project plans. Continue to update and improve project methodologies.
  • Track and update registry of constraints, dependencies, assumptions, risks and issues. Assess the impact on project and take action.
  • Produce weekly performance report and monthly status report to update key stakeholders.
  • Maintain existing departmental and Project Office policies and procedures.
  • Support Program Manager or Director with day to day running of project admin tasks
  • Manage deployment planning and execution.
  • Change Management & Training

  • Support Change Management Team on the process and training
  • Support (Post Production)

  • Plan and setup post live support and ensure it is operational.
  • Organise and facilitate closure of project.
  • Complete benefit analysis at the end of the project and present the findings to management.

  • To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in economics, commerce or accounting, finance, computer science, science, information systems, engineering, or a related field
  • Approximately 8 years of recent relevant work experience in technology initiatives management or implementation, preferably in a business consulting role with a leading management consultancy organization
  • Good functional knowledge of Target Operating Model for banks
  • Ability to translate complex client requirements and goals, and to reflect this in a solution architecture, that is understandable by clients irrespective of their level of seniority
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, in addition to technical skills
  • Have a detailed understanding of the application and integration architectures (at a minimum) with a breadth of understanding across the remaining views
  • Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Masters in Engineering or Business Administration
  • Functional knowledge of IT Target Operating Model and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool such as SAP or Oracle
  • Have working exposure towards the latest emerging technologies such as Cloud, SaaS, PaaS, Mobility, Analytical, and Digital
  • Agile Scrum, PMP, TOGAF or ITIL certified
