Our aim is to be the largest and most efficient developer of onshore and offshore wind in the UK and Ireland. We drive new growth by identifying, developing, building and operating high quality wind and hydro assets in GB, Ireland and internationally. In order to contribute to a low carbon future, we have committed to treble our current Renewables output by 2030. Our Commercial & Investment (C&I) Management directorate is responsible for ensuring we deliver the full commercial potential of our assets and optimise future investment opportunities. Within the C&I directorate we are establishing a new Risk & Assurance team with principal accountability for assuring the MD and SSER Executive Committee that the systems of internal control across the business are suitable for delivering our objectives in a fully compliant manner. What is the Role? This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the establishment of this new team, supporting our business growth ambitions as we deliver on 'building back greener'. As the Renewables Risk Manager, you'll facilitate the consistent identification, assessment and reporting of risks within the Renewables business. You'll own and further develop the current business-wide Risk Management Framework to ensure a consistent approach to risk management across all parts of the business and then actively use this to ensure the optimal mitigation of all categories of risk facing the business. This will involve working with Risk & Assurance colleagues and others within the business to identify opportunities to improve the mitigation of current and emerging risks facing the business. In this role you will further ensure appropriate and timely reporting of business risks to the Renewables Executive Committee and other leadership teams within the business and will work with the Group Risk team to provide regular reporting on business unit Principal risks to the Group Risk Committee. What do I need? To be successful in this role you will have extensive skills and experience in the best-practice identification and management of all categories of business risk both at enterprise level and across the operational areas of the business. A professional qualification in Risk Management would be advantageous. You'll have an understanding of the structure of the UK and Ireland energy industry and specifically the Renewables sector, as well as an awareness of the associated Regulatory and Legislative obligations. A detailed understanding of the Renewables Risk Management Framework is preferred but consideration will also be given to candidates with experience of a similar approach to risk management. You'll be comfortable interacting and presenting to Senior Management, with highly proficient facilitation and presentation skills. Due to the multiple priorities you'll juggle, you'll be well organised, results-orientated and able to deliver high quality work within tight deadlines, under minimal supervision.
