Overview
Key Duties:
- To provide support to the Head of Regulatory Reporting
- To take responsibility for the preparation of regulatory returns and statutory accounts
- To design and develop robust and repeatable processes to produce the returns for those to be as streamlined as possible
- To prepare ad-hoc additional returns as and when required
- To ensure all returns are submitted in a timely manner to the appropriate committees for review and sign-off
- To liaise with external auditors and ensure returns are signed and submitted to the regulatory bodies
- To participate in shaping the development of regulatory changes
- To remain up to date with changes in regulatory reporting regime, and be responsible for the implementation of such changes in the syndicate
- To inform senior management of the impact of changes and make recommendations for corporate responses to regulatory changes
- To prepare papers for the EC / subsidiary Boards as required
- To liaise with other departments and personnel as required, including the Compliance Officer, Operations, Actuarial and other Finance staff and underwriting staff
- To research any technical issues
- To maintain procedures manuals for area of responsibility
- To discharge duties in respect of Financial Controls for the areas of responsibility
- Involvement in ad hoc projects where necessary
Qualifications required:
- Qualified accountant preferable (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
Experience required:
- Experience within the commercial insurance sector (preferably within the Lloyd's market)
- Advanced excel and knowledge of word. Experience and knowledge of general ledger systems (e.g. Dynamics GP)
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, adapt to changing requirements and work within a team
- Experience in the completion of regulatory returns
- Experience in the production of syndicate accounts
