The successful candidate will become a member of the wider Finance team at Apple. With over 300 employees from a multitude of backgrounds, the Finance department in Cork supports all functions of Apple in EMEIA, including Sales Fulfilment, Logistics, Manufacturing and Operations, Apple Music, Apple Retail as well as part of the Global Business Solutions (GBS) function!

This is a key role in a dynamic environment with the potential for the role to develop further with additional responsibilities in line with business requirements.

This role will join our Record to Report, and sit within the GL Governance team supporting some of Apple’s key Irish entities.

Key Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant with minimum 3 years + post qualification experience
  • Statutory accounts preparation experience
  • Tax qualification or experience beneficial
  • Strong business partnering skills and awareness of the big picture.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills - a naturally enquiring approach
  • Identify issues and resolve within a timely manner.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, problem solving, project management, communication skills required.

Description

Responsible for key Irish entities for both US GAAP and Local GAAP close.

Manage preparation of statutory accounts and other statutory filings for responsible entities.

Liaise with external Auditors on both the Irish Statutory Audit and Quarterly Group US GAAP audits.

Support the team in all external audits, including tax audits from governmental agencies.

Ongoing governance of and oversight of Irish legal entities and support of a wide range of business partners across Finance and other business functions in EMEIA and beyond.

Ensure business procedures align with requirements of Sarbanes Oxley legislation.

Implementation of best in class accounting processes.

Maintain data integrity of SAP to ensure US GAAP rules and local legal statutory and accounting reporting adhered to.

Liaise with other Regional Lead Accounting Managers to ensure consistent processes across all regions and that there is consistent treatment of corporate finance policies.

Assist in all Record to Record related projects on an ongoing basis and ensure that EMEIA requirements into all systems projects so as to create efficient end to end process and phenomenal customer experience.

Ensure appropriate systems, processes, tools and business relationships exist to enable effective legal entity controllership and compliance.
