Description

  • Lead a small team to provide financial accounting support to assigned companies and business areas.
  • Provide leadership, management and development to your team as line manager
  • Work with management to ensure that new products/initiatives are accounted correctly, providing expert financial accounting advice as required
  • Be responsible for producing the monthly management accounts for assigned companies and business areas.
  • Preparing the statutory accounts for assigned companies
  • Preparing the regulatory returns, both PRA (e.g. Solvency II returns) and FCA (e.g. RMAR returns), for assigned companies
  • Ensuing that a robust control environment is maintained, recommending and making improvements as necessary
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with business areas e.g. Actuarial and with external specialists
  • Managing the relationship with the auditors of assigned companies, delivering information requests/data as required

    • Profile

    Experience of leading, managing and developing a team or individuals

    Excellent technical accounting skills preferably gained in an insurance or regulated environment

    Experience of preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, statutory accounts and regulatory returns

    Strong analytical skills, with the ability to proactively identify and suggest new approaches that promote a simplified and improved approach to how we work

    You will have a controls mind-set looking to ensure that a robust control environment is maintained

    Delivery focused with excellent attention to detail and a strong drive to resolve issues

    Very effective communication skills with experience of building strong relationships across teams
