To manage VAT and accounting processes, ensuring accurate and complete VAT returns are submitted, providing advice and support on VAT issues in the business, researching the implications of other taxes (overseas/ corporate tax) on business activity and liaising with the corporate tax advisers to ensure the completion and submission of timely tax returns.

Description
Manage preparation and submission of VAT returns for the group including review of the returns, partial exemption calculation and application of reverse charges
Research ad hoc VAT and tax queries arising in the business, including queries in respect of the capital build programme, capital goods scheme and relevant charitable purpose buildings and provide advice on implications and action needed
Liaise with HMRC as required, for example in respect of building status, including opting to tax specific properties.
Research implications and provide advice on general tax matters in the business, including researching the tax implications of overseas projects
Provide a point of contact for the business partners and other stakeholders in respect of tax related queries
Ensure systems and procedures support the efficient and effective production of VAT and tax information and are updated to reflect any new reporting requirements.
Manage the completion of the corporation tax packs for the group and its subsidiaries
Liaise with the group's tax advisers on ongoing tax work, including work on returns in overseas jurisdictions
Profile
You will be a technically sound financial accountant, qualified or QBE, with strong VAT experience
Job Offer
£20-£25p/h on a 3 day per week basis for an initial 6 month contract
