Seeking a financial accountant to join the central financial control team and help to drive continuous improvement in accounting and financial control across the Group. A key focus will be to provide financial accounting support for the management of a high performing division's balance sheet and financial controls

Description

The main responsibilities of the Financial Accountant are:

  • Act as the main contact for financial accounting support for groups highest performing business line
  • Produce statutory accounts for various Group subsidiaries and co-ordinating tax pack info
  • Run and continually improve the fixed asset impairment models for two main business lines
  • Present complex financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Produce a variety of high quality balance sheet control account reconciliations
  • Review and submit accurate quarterly VAT returns
  • Look to streamline processes

Profile

  • An accountancy qualification i.e. CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
  • Strong excel skills with the ability to manage large quantities of data
  • Experience of producing statutory accounts
  • The ability to communicate with and draw information from various internal colleagues
  • Experience presenting complex information in a clear simplified way to both finance and non-finance colleagues
  • Good time management skills, able to manage their own workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience working in a large complex business, with large quantities of data would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of VAT returns would be advantageous
